COVID-19 Message

Dear Friends,

While we all grapple with the evolving COVID-19 developments, the health and well-being of our clients (current and potential), staff, family, and friends continue to be our top concern.   We are taking precautions to minimize risk while remaining fully operational. The firm is monitoring updates by federal and local authorities. We continue to be available to tend to the matters that mean the most to our clients.  So we want you to know:

1. Our offices remain open. As of today, our building remains open and we have implemented best hygiene practices throughout our office. However, please note that we are requesting that any in-office appointments be set telephonically or via video conferencing through Zoom, if possible. See here for our new In-Office Procedures.

2.   We’re still at work.  We have implemented contingency plans that permit our attorneys and staff to work remotely and securely.  In the interests of the safety of our staff and clients, we have limited the number of staff who are working in the office currently.  However, this can change at any time.  Everyone at our firm is committed to responding as quickly as possible to any of your legal needs. While the Courts have largely closed, many cases are continuing to proceed through electronic mail, video, or telephonic conferencing on open matters.  Any clients impacted by these procedures will be kept apprised of all developments.

3.   Remote Access.  We’re using technology to accommodate both staff and clients with available video-conferencing and we’re currently working on obtaining electronic notary and electronic signing of documents as an option for convenience.  We are grateful for all of our clients and will continue to be a resource however we can.  For now, please understand that the safety of our employees and their families are also critical, and we wish everyone patience and health during this time.

7. Many domestic relations divisions in Orange and Osceola Counties have implemented emergency/temporary division procedures during the pandemic and period of limited court access. These procedures address issues such as scheduling hearings, scheduling short matters or ex parte hearings, alternatives to evidentiary hearings, and submissions of uncontested final judgments.  Just click on the judge for the division you are interested in and scroll down to the “Other Information” tab to see if there are procedures for that division.  Click on this link to access: https://www.ninthcircuit.org/about/judges
